According to the decision No. 12889/2020 of the Ministry of Migration Policy of Greece dated from March 23, 2020, which was published in the Government newspaper (Issue 2 No. 1086 / 30.03.2020), the deadlines for renewal of residence permits and certificates of legality of stay in the following order are defined:

For those who have expired the residence permit in the period from February 11, 2020 to March 11, 2020 and for those who expire the residence permit in the period from March 12 to May 12, 2020, the opportunity to update the residence permit within 5 months is provided, namely till October 12, 2020.

For those who have expired a type A certificate (μπλε βεβαίωση) or a special certificate (ειδική βεβαίωση) before March 12, 2020 and for those who expire from March 13 to May 12, 2020, the above certificates can be updated within 5 months, namely until October 12, 2020.

During the time period from the expiration of the residence permit or certificates to the application for updating the document on the legality of stay, an expired residence permit or certificate is automatically renewed. Updating the residence permit or certificate will be dated from the moment the document itself expires.

For those immigrants who are in the country on a special visa or a visa, which makes it possible to apply for a residence permit, it is necessary to submit a dossier for applying for a residence permit before May 10, 2020.

Reminder for those whose applications for obtaining a residence permit are under consideration and need to provide additional documents, the possibility of sending by mail (registered letter) or courier service is open.

About previously assigned appointments for submitting documents for updating the residence permit that did not take place, a new clarification will follow from the migration services next week (from April 6-10, 2020).
