In connection with the worldwide problem of the spread of the new virus, the Ministry of Migration Policy of Greece adopted on March 11, 2020 an order to temporarily stop the immigration services of the country's migration services from 12/3/2020 to 10/04/2020.

For those whose applications for obtaining a residence permit are under consideration and it is necessary to provide additional documents, the possibility of sending by mail (by registered letter) or by courier is open.For those who are expiring a residence permit or a type A certificate (μπλε βεβαίωση) or a special certificate (ειδική βεβαίωση) during the quarantine period, the extension of the above documents will be provided by default and new deadlines will be set for submitting applications for the extension.

The Greek Police is notified that for the period of quarantine, third-country nationals who have expired validity of a residence permit or certificates are considered to be legally located in the country.For those immigrants who are in the country on a special visa or a visa, which makes it possible to obtain a residence permit, they will be given the opportunity to hand over dossiers in the near future from the moment when the migration services resume their rhythm of work.
